"RC 5" is going to be the official final, so you won't have too long to wait.
If you did happen to DL this RC and then the official final in a day or so, you'd likely find the MD5 checksum of this RC and the final will be the same (no change).
Slated to go official on the 11th of this month (see Guy's post).

Don't know about older systems, but it is quite noticably faster at starting up on my Vista laptop, and seems a little more responsive in use, though I only use OO for simple spreadsheets, such as the tables in the pages of my website, which are entirely edited and produced using Calc.

I didn't ;-)
But I think you'll be pleasantly suprised when you get the official final release. OOo 3.2.0 launches about 30 to 40% faster than 3.1x - no need for the Quickstarter app on this Windows box.

... and Base has a zoom bar, hurrah, hurrah
Yeh, I know you can use ctrl wheel, but that means I have to reach for the keyboard.

That's the problem with text interfaces - they force you to take your hand off its home position on the mouse.
