Pretty sure they're trying to find an excuse while blaming the officials somehow. There had to be an evil power directing the outcome of this game! Bettman and the officials, Bettman and the officials...

*EDIT* I swear I did not look at the Flyer group before that post. OMG! They really are trying to find a way to blame the officials and Bettman!

Considering the Flyers had three extra PP's and the Pens were playing their backup goalie, I'm not sure what their argument would be. Bettman didn't... give the Pens more injuries prior to the game?

Well from what I gather... Missed/did not call more penalties against the Pens (apparently lots of elbows were thrown) The rule about the puck going over the glass sucks. The Second goal was really a goal (premature whistle there)

Oh, don't forget the call on Hartnell. But honestly, I don't know what the fuck they were complaining about there. I mean, he jumped all over the goaltender, trying to get some sloppy seconds. Oh, and EVERY hockey player knows, when you are violently crosschecked from behind infront of the netminder, you are SUPPOSED to fall sideways, not forward. Fucking philthy phlyers fans. Their goons just can't keep up with Pens superior firepower.

Oh, the rule DOES suck, but it wasn't the reason the Flyers lost. They simply didn't cash in on opportunites. The special teams decided this game, pure and simple. However, Timo deserved that particular penalty.
The second goal whistle wasn't premature, but Gagne SHOULD NOT have been called for the extra two. Malkin comes in with a HIGH elbow, and Gagne gets the 2 for high sticking and then roughing. Kinda rough there.
That said, the officiating was STILL horrible.. and while I missed a good chunk of the 2nd, and ALL of the third, I'd have to say the Flyers kept up with and at times outplayed Pittsburgh. It just came down to special teams. I don't think you all can make the claim that the Pens are FAR superior to the Flyers anymore though.

Oh... And I think they mentioned the fact that the Flyers played the night before, But hey... The Pens played that one game on Thursday too... So that couldn't be a reason for the loss. Out of 5 games so far, the Flyers played the Pens on the 2nd half of a back to back. Out of all 6 between the Flyers and Pens, only ONE game is the send half of a back to back. I'm not saying win or lose, but hey, it affects the game some.
Really, all in all... The league does have some agendas they'd like to persue. Everything in life has an agenda. Like for example, Phoenix... What godly reason on earth could Bettman have for keeping that team IN Phoenix? WHY on gods green earth, couldn't that team have been shipped off to Canada? But then again, the Penguins almost ended up in Canada. I believe the only reason the team WASN'T sold to Balsille was because of some type of intervention by Bettman. Now, is all this the reason the Pens beat the Flyers regularly? Nope. I'd say the SOLE reason for that lands soley in the hands of Marc Andre Fluery. MAF is good, there is no doubt about that. He steals games, that the Flyers 2nd and 3rd string net minders can't. And in the end, while Emery played extremly well today, it just wasn't enough for the Flyers to eek out a win. This series is NOT what it appears on paper... Listen to the Pens fans, and you'd believe that Pittsburgh walked off with this series uncontested, and really, it was like taking candy from a baby. But, lets recap.
Game 1: PIT 5 - PHI 4 Game 2: PHI 1 - PIT 6 (2nd half of Philly back to back) (Boucher in net... almost a gift...really) Game 3: PIT 3 - PHI 2 (SO) (2nd half of home and home) (Boucher in net again) Game 4: PHI 7 - PIT 4 (Also 2nd half of Philly back to back) (Leighton in net, just somebody they picked up because both Boosh and Emery were injured) Game 5: PIT 2 - PHI 1
So, yeah, a series lead of 4-1 but only ONE of those games was a COMMANDING lead. The other 3 games could have easily gone the other way, and it could be Philadelphia leading 4 games to 1. For all the talk of how the Penguins are a vastly superior team, and Philadelphia can ONLY win by gooning it up, I just don't see it. Yeah, the Pittsburgh Penguins won the game today, and the Flyers were crap because they could only manage one goal on the back-up netminder. Yet 2 of 4 Penguin victories were the result of facing the back-up net minder. It goes both ways folks... The Pens won today, but it wasn't a blow out, and really was a couple of LUCKY bounces that kept them into the game and then ultimately won the game for them.
That said, I sure hope they meet again in the playoffs. That series will be hell on both teams, and if the regular season is any indication, I'd say this one has the makings of 7 games, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Philly walks away the victor of that.
