Règles de confidentialité du service Groupes Google (bêta)

The Google Privacy Policy describes how Google Inc and its affiliates treat personal information when you use Google's services, including information provided to Google Groups. In addition, the following describes our practices that are specific to Google Groups.

Participating in a Google Group discussion

Google Groups includes two types of discussions: publicly accessible discussions that anyone can access and restricted discussions that are limited to members only. The owners of a Google Group decide who is in the group and whether a discussion is public or restricted. You should be aware that the information you post in a Google Group – including the header information, nickname and email address associated with the posting – may be read, copied, used and re-distributed by people you do not know. Use care when posting personal information in a group, particularly sensitive information such as social security numbers, financial information or home addresses or phone numbers.

At this time Google Groups is only available to users who are at least 13 years old. If you are under 13, you may not use the Google Groups service.

Information that we collect and how we use it

Account information. When you register for Google Groups, we will request some personal information to create your account, including an email address and a password. Your password will be maintained on our system in an encrypted form. You also may provide a nick name which can be used when you post in groups.

Group postings and account activity. The contents of the postings that you submit to Google Groups are stored and maintained on Google servers in order to publish the postings and provide the service. In order to protect our users from email harvesting software and bots, we attempt to "mask" email addresses so that they are typically human readable but not machine readable. In addition, we collect and maintain information about your account activity, such as the groups that you join or manage, lists of other members or invitees in the groups, messages or topics you track and your preferred settings when using Google Groups. We use this information internally to deliver the best possible service to you and to continue improving and developing other features to enhance the Google Groups service.
